During our travels around the Oaxaca, we had heard stories of a cooperative of all woman weavers. Not that long ago weaving in the Zapotec tribes of Oaxaca was considered only a man's work, so we were instantly intrigued and inspired. This cooperative was started by six brave women who helped change the history of their culture by stepping out of the norm and taking control of their own destinies. We knew we had to find these powerful, inspiring women. Today, the cooperative has twelve active members, two of which we had the pleasure of meeting. They take great pride in their work, as they should. They are highly talented, sweet, soulful women whom we are proud to be collaborating with.
